Growing up in Germany we always missed the ocean and wished for these perfect local breaks right in our backyard. When coming to Cape Town in 1998 our vision was to create a place for all those adventure seeking watersportjunkies, to surf perfect conditions and connect with like-minded people.

Opened in 1998 by Chris and Bernd  the SURF HOSTEL was one of the first of its kind in Blouberg known for it's exceptional surf and kite community and incredible party nights. Just a few years later we opened up our second house, the SURFER'S LODGE, only steps away from the SURF HOSTEL for all those who like it a little bit more quiet but won't miss the surf community. Together they form the perfect setup to offer a bold accommodation experience for today's travellers and waterjunkies.

In 2021, Bernd decided that it is time to freshen up the business handing over his part to Paul and Emmy.
